UNION – The Gene & Shelley Enlow Recital Hall at Kean University announces its 2010-11 inaugural season lineup. The first full season in Enlow Hall consists of 19 performances featuring many of today’s leading musicians and ensembles in classical, pop, jazz and world music, as well as a number of special projects and residencies.
Located on the East Campus of Kean University, Enlow Hall is a newly designed concert hall with precision acoustics unmatched by other venues in the region. The stunning 312-seat concert space creates an intimate performance experience for audiences with close proximity to the lineup of world-class musicians and virtuosos of tomorrow. Enlow Hall features a hand-crafted Fazioli piano and state-of-the-art recording studio.
Enlow Hall launches its 2010-2011 season on September 25 with a special Opening Night performance by classical crossover, chamber musicians Ahn Trio. Opening Night Event tickets may be purchased for $60 and include a pre-concert cocktail reception and post-performance “meet the artists” event. The September 25 opening night performance and event will be dedicated to Founding Subscribers, full-season subscription holders. The fall season continues with one night only performances by Vanessa Carlton (October 9), Arco Ensemble (November 12), State Symphony Capella of Russia (November 13), and Sharon Isbin (December 4).
Enlow Hall celebrates the holidays with two special performances: The Best of Broadway – Holiday on Broadway (December 12) and Baltimore Consort, featuring holiday carols (December 18).
The spring season opens with classical crossover/bluegrass ensemble O’Connor Quartet (February 20), and continues with Ladysmith Black Mambazo (February 27), China Traditional Orchestra Anhui (March 5), Pedro Javier González (March 6), Arco Ensemble (April 9), and Jim Brickman (April 16).
Kean University’s Concert Artists Series, in its 12th season, brings world-renowned performing musicians onto the faculty of the Kean University Conservatory of Music. The Concert Artist Series at Enlow Recital Hall features En France chamber music works by French composers (October 14), The Music of Samuel Zyman (November 18), Latin American Mosaic for piano and flute (December 9), Verdi’s Rigoletto concert performance (March 24), Celebrating Heitor Villa Lobos for piano (April 20), and Ars Vitalis: The New Jersey New Music Forum (April 28).
