Atlantic City Trips
The Senior Adult Club of the JCC sponsors a monthly trip to Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. The next two trips, scheduled for Mondays, September 27 & October 25, will depart from the Jewish Community Center, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison at 8:45am. The cost is $27/person. Each registrant over the age of 21 will receive a cash bonus that varies each month.. Stop by the JCC reception desk to reserve your seat in advance. BRIDGE IS THE GAME AT THE JCC OF MIDDLESEX COUNTY
The JCC Senior Adult Department is offering numerous bridge classes as well as a weekly duplicate bridge session.
A 6 session course, BRIDGE FOR BEGINNERS, will be offered on Wednesdays, September 15, 22, 29 and Oct.6, 13 & 20, 2010 from 10:00am – Noon. With the help of instructor, Gil Hollander, participants will learn how to evaluate, bid and play a hand, to score and to defend against opponents in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Come alone or with a partner. Classes will be held at the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison. The fee is $36 for Community Campus Members and $46 for Non-Members. Advanced registration is required by contacting the JCC front desk staff, 732-494-3232. A minimum number of participants are required.
An ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE BRIDGE CLASS, taught by Al Steinberger, will run for 6 weeks. The class will meet Thursdays, October 7, 14, 21, 28 & Nov. 4 & 11, 2010from 9:45-11:45am. The emphasis will be on supervised play in order to promote more aggressive bidding and card playing. Classes will be held at the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison. Fee for Community Campus members is $36 and for non-members, $46.
Gil Hollander will teach an ADVANCED BEGINNERS’ BRIDGE II class beginning Monday evening October 4th. The class will run October 4, 11, 18 & 25, November 1 & 8 from 7:00pm TO 9:00pm. This course continues the beginner sessions and is suitable for those with some experience. The basics of bidding and play will be reviewed, bidding conventions and strategy will be introduced and play knowledge will be increased. Classes will be held at the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison. Fee for Community Campus members is $36 and for non-members, $46.
DUPLICATE BRIDGE is held Wednesdays from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison throughout the year. Come alone or with a partner.
