Sica & Reiman Rebuilt Carteret

I read with disgust ex Mayor Jim Failace’s letter to the editor in the Home News Tribune. Failace was soundly defeated by Reiman eight years ago this year. Failace now attempts to take credit for everything good in Carteret while blaming others for everything bad.

Failace’s administration was a failure from day one, and he has consistently turned local politics and elections into smear campaigns and gutter politics. I have watched his rise and fall over the last 20 years and remember how he tried to character assassinate every candidate or official that he disagreed with.

I’ve been a Carteret resident for 53 years and I have never been so proud to call Carteret home. From the creation of our waterfront park to the gorgeous restored boro hall, Carteret has never looked so good. Falaice attacked former Mayor Pete Sica for years and held up many if not all of his initiatives; that today Mayor Reiman is bringing to fruition. Sica fought hard for the residents of Carteret and had a vision of a better town. Years from now, people will look back and forget the personal and political failures of Jim Failace. They will remember Pete Sica for his vision and legacy and Dan Reiman for his leadership and ability to get things done. Jim Failace, you are no Pete Sica.
