Powerball Jackpot-Winning Ticket Sold In West Virginia

STATE — There was one top prize winner in Saturday’s Powerball drawing. The winning ticket, worth up to $79 million, was sold in West Virginia.

If the winner chooses annuity payments, the jackpot is $79 million. The cash option is nearly $44.4 million.


Three New Jersey retailers sold second prize-winning tickets, worth $250,000 each. According to NJ Lottery Acting Executive Director Carole Hedinger,34,799 other New Jersey players took home $182,694 in prizes ranging from $3 to $10,000.

The winning numbers for the Saturday, Aug. 21 drawing were: 07, 10, 12, 22, and 27 and the Red Power Ball number was 26. The Power Play number was 2.

The Powerball jackpot will reset to $20 million for the next drawing,  held on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 11 p.m. and televised locally on NJN-TV –the New Jersey Network.
