Perth Amboy Youth Showcase Talent

PERTH AMBOY — The youth participating in the Perth Amboy Performing Arts Summer Program  will showcase their skills Saturday in “Perth Amboy’s Got Talent: A Theatrical Showcase.”  The event was announced earlier this week by Mayor Wilda Diaz and the Office of Recreation.

The presentation, which will feature a combination of performances through dance, song and drama, is open to the community. Perth Amboy High School students and alumni will also be participating.

“Last Friday I attended the performing arts students’ unique remake of the 1978 film, THE WIZ.  It was a great presentation, entertaining and most rewarding. The Office of Recreation staff and Anita Dowd, the Perth Amboy High School’s performing arts director do an impressive job of preparing these children in such a short timeframe,” said Diaz.

The showcase will be held at the Crossroads Theatre, 7 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick on Saturday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $15 and may be obtained by contacting Anita Dowd at 1-732-376-6200 ext. 23463. Ticket availability at the door will be limited.
