Summer Concert Series Continues With The Nerds

CLARK – The Union County Summer Arts Festival concert series continues on Wednesday, Aug. 18, with a performance by The Nerds, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Park in Clark.

Classic rock, soul, TV show tunes and a heavy dose of insane banter are all part of the show when The Nerds take the stage. For 25 years, these Jersey guys – Biff, Spaz, Stretch and Mongo – have performed their endearing brand of rock and pop covers on a whirlwind ride that has taken them from musty watering holes along the Jersey Shore to the PNC Bank Arts Center, Carnegie Hall, and the set of “Good Morning America.” And now The Nerds make their triumphant return to a stage near you!

Lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets are encouraged. Refreshments and snacks will be available from vendors.

The final free concert in the weekly Union County Summer Arts Festival series will feature Jimmy and the Parrots (a Jimmy Buffett cover band) at Oak Ridge Park on Wednesday, Aug. 25.

In case of rain, call the Union County Department of Parks and Community Renewal at 1-908-558-4079 after 3 p.m. on the concert day or visit the Union County web site: to learn the status of that evening’s show. There is no alternate site for the outdoor concerts and shows may be cancelled due to severe weather.
