SCOTCH PLAINS — Monday, Sept. 13, marks the 24th annual golf outing to benefit the Center For Hope Hospice & Palliative Care. This year the event will be held at Ash Brook Golf Course, Scotch Plains.
Over the past 24 years, the golf outing, which is organization’s largest fundraiser, has generated over $2 million. This money is utilized to provide services from the center’s physician, nurses, home health aides, social workers, counselors and volunteers to thousands of terminally ill patients and their loved ones.
The event has two “hole in-one” sponsors this year. Ellen Ramer, proprietor of Martin’s Jewelers, in Cranford, is donating a Rolex Watch President Model. Sal Gerbino, general sales manager at JMK BMW in Springfield, is donating a BMW.
Organizers are urging participants to register early as the spots typically fill up quickly. All sponsors and contributors will receive recognition in the program and a sign will be displayed at the outing with your name. The cost is $185 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, green fees, putting green, barbecue lunch, cocktail hour, and dinner at The Gran Centurions in Clark. For those who wish to attend the cocktail hour and dinner only, the cost is $65 per person. There will be raffles and prizes. Deadline for sponsorships and signs is Sept. 3.
