CRANFORD – Union County’s “Family Flix” summer film series will continue on Tuesday evening, August 17, in Nomahegan Park in Cranford.

“Monsters vs. Aliens”, a 2009 DreamWorks animated science-fiction comedy that follows the adventures of a giant young woman and her monster friends as they defend Earth from an alien invasion, is evening’s feature.

The film will begin at dusk, but families are invited to join a nature stroll in the park led by naturalists from Trailside Nature & Science Center to see if evening noises are monsters and aliens or simply bullfrogs and katydids.

A final Family Flix movie and activity for this summer is planned for Tuesday, August 24 at Nomahegan Park, when Watchung Stable staff members will guide lead-line rides on horses for youngsters before the adventure comedy, “Racing Stripes.”

In the event of rain, the movie will be cancelled. For more information, call the Union County Department of Parks and Community Renewal at 1-908-527-4900. For rain information in the parks call 1-908-558-4079 after 3 p.m. on the day of the event.
