Aug. 9 at 8:26 a.m. – Police investigated a warehouse burglary on the 300 block of Dalziel Road. The business owner reported that between Aug. 6 and Aug. 9, someone entered the building, cut wires to the security system and used a forklift to steal 45 pallets of hair care products valued at $250,000. Aug. 10 – Police arrested North Brunswick resident Tommy Davis, 44, and charged him with shoplifting, assault on a police officer, possession of a stolen vehicle, and eluding police in connection with a June 30 incident at Sears Essentials on the 1700 block of West Edgar Road. Davis allegedly shoplifted hardware worth $739 from the store and fled in a 2002 Honda Civic that had been reported stolen. Police Officer Walter Durham Jr. encountered the suspect and followed him to a dead end, where Davis allegedly made a U-turn and drove at the officer’s vehicle. The suspect escaped, but was arrested on separate charges by Clark police on July 27. Davis is being held in lieu of $52,000 bail on the Linden charges.
