Edison Police Captain Graduates From Police Staff & Command School

EDISON –Edison Police Department Captain Mark Anderko recently graduated from the School of Police Staff and Command (S.P.S.C.) at Northwestern University.

Anderko, a 22 –year veteran of the Edison Police Department, has successfully completed the ten-week program held at the Bucks County Police and Fire Training Center in Pennsylvania. The S.P.S.C. provides upper-level instruction in topic areas which include: Management and Management Theory, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources for Law Enforcement, Budgeting, Staffing Allocation and Personnel Deployment.


The School of Police Staff and Command provides a unique opportunity to law enforcement professionals to study the best contemporary practices in police leadership. The program emphasizes advanced management training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. The S.P.S.C. is nationally regarded as among the finest law enforcement management training courses in the country.

Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan attended the graduation ceremony and said, “The graduates of the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University are exposed to a rigorous curriculum and demonstrate a true commitment to the law enforcement profession. I am confident that Captain Anderko’s experience while attending the School of Police Staff and Command will benefit our Police Department.”

Anderko is currently assigned as the Commander of the Police Administration Bureau.
