There were no top prize winners in Friday’s drawing, but two $250,000 second prize-winning tickets were sold in New Jersey, both in the city of Elizabeth. Ivelisse Grocery on Bayway Avenue and AM to PM Exxon on Third Avenue sold the lucky tickets.
In addition to the Garden State ‘s second-prize winners, 43,074 other New Jersey players took home $197,764 in prizes ranging from $2 to $10,000, according to New Jersey Lottery Acting Executive Director Carole Hedinger.
The winning numbers for the Friday, Aug. 6 drawing were: 07, 13, 30, 33, and 54 and the Gold Mega Ball number was 30.
This jackpot has been growing since July 16, when Mega Millions had its most recent jackpot winner. The jackpot has now rolled six times without a winner. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately one in 176 million. The odds of winning any of the Mega Millions prizes are approximately 1 in 40.
Mega Millions is currently played in 39 states. Drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. Eastern Time and are televised locally on NJN.
