Local Students Earn Degrees

NEWARK — NJIT awarded 2,237 degrees to the members of the class of 2010, bringing the total number of degrees awarded by the university to more than 69,685.

The following local students earned degrees that were awarded at a commencement ceremony held at the Prudential Center in May.

  • Cynthia Montalvan of Rahway was awarded a Bachelor of Architecture degree
  • Paul Makarucha of Rahway was awarded a Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree
  • Daniel Chavez of Clark was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree
  • Maurice Ruales of Clark was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree
  • Daniel Zalinsky of Clark was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree
  • Grafton Cupid of Rahway was awarded a Master of Science degree
  • Khalid Mateen of Rahway was awarded a Master of Science degree
  • Ian Mitchell of Rahway was awarded a Master of Science degree

NJIT, New Jersey’s science and technology university, enrolls more than 8,800 students pursuing bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in 120 programs. The university consists of six colleges: Newark College of Engineering, College of Architecture and Design, College of Science and Liberal Arts, School of Management, College of Computing Sciences and Albert Dorman Honors College.
