75-Year-Old Woman Charged With Stabbing Her Husband To Death

NEW BRUNSWICK – A 75-year-old woman has been charged with stabbing her 80-year-old husband to death yesterday at their home in Monroe, authorities said.

Ruth Zucker pleaded not guilty at her arraignment before Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Joseph Paone today, and she is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick pending $200,000 bail. Paone ordered Zucker to undergo a psychiatric examination as a condition of bail.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call at the couple’s home on Leeds Lane made by the Zuckers’ 46-year-old son. He discovered that his father had been stabbed to death when he went to visit his parents, authorities said.
