Edison To Show Family Movie On National Night Out

EDISON — The Edison Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Edison Police Department, will offer an old fashioned drive-in movie on Tuesday, Aug. 3, on the Edison High School football field at 50 Boulevard of the Eagles.

This event will be part of National Night Out which is an outdoor fun filled evening where the entire community is invited to partake in various activities in a safe environment.  It is a nationwide crime prevention event reflecting the day in, day out cooperation of our citizens and police.

This year’s main feature will be the just released, family comedy “Diary Of A Wimpy Kid”.  Jeff Kinney’s bestseller has become a favorite of “tweens” and parents alike.  A heartfelt, humorous, first person diary by the loveably clueless Greg Heffley as he battles bullies, deals with family and girls, and tackles every day school life with missteps and misadventures.

The concession stand with free food donated by PBA Local #75 will open at 7 p.m. with music videos beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Cartoons and the main feature will commence shortly after dusk on the 20-foot high screen.

Blankets and low-backed chairs are recommended. For more information, call the Edison Recreation Department at 1-732-248-7312.
