I would like to offer a thank you to the Somerset Patriots for helping make our Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day on July 18th a resounding success.
With their support, we were able to alert the public about the staggering circumstances that those with pancreatic cancer and their families have to endure. Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States and only 6 percent of patients survive more than five years.
There are no early detection methods and no cure for this insidious disease. More funding needs to be allocated to finding a cure and we took another step in the right direction on July 18th.
Thanks again to all of those involved and we look forward to our PurpleStride walk November 7th in Parsippany. For information, please go to purplestride.org or email Todd Cohen at TCohen@pancanvolunteer.org.
