ABERDEEN – Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey & Philadelphia will open its first location in Monmouth County at 228 Route 35 in Aberdeen on Tuesday, July 27. The site, which formerly housed a Rite-Aid, encompasses 10,908 square feet of retail space. Doors will open at 9 a.m.
Stocked with a vast assortment of high-quality new and gently-used clothing, accessories, household items, toys, furniture and more, Goodwill’s Aberdeen Store & Donation Center is a bargain hunter’s paradise. The site will also host a drive-through donation center, where local residents can donate gently-used items that they no longer need in return for a tax deduction.
A nonprofit, community-based organization, Goodwill’s charitable mission is to provide job training and career services that help local residents with disabilities and disadvantages get to work. The large-scale collection and resale of donated goods fund these high caliber programs while contributing to the region’s recycling efforts.
Donations, including clothing, household items, furniture, toys, books, computers and other peripheral equipment, will be accepted at the drive-through donation center. With a state-of-the-art automated donation kiosk and friendly donation associates always on site, Goodwill strives to provide the best possible service for its generous donors. Because Goodwill is a nonprofit organization, all donations are tax deductible by law and receipts are provided. A donation calculator that enables donors to calculate the impact of their donation in the community can be found at www.goodwillnj.org. Goodwill encourages local schools, churches, civic organizations and businesses looking for community service projects to partner with Goodwill to conduct clothing drives.
A formal grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony for Goodwill’s Aberdeen Store & Donation Center will take place on Wednesday, September 1. It will be followed by four days of special promotions and giveaways.
Goodwill’s Aberdeen Store & Donation Center will be open Monday – Saturday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Sunday noon – 6 p.m.
