Union Library Announces August Children’s Program Schedule

UNION — The Children’s Department of the Union Public Library has scheduled the following programs at the Main Library during the month of August:

The Preschool Storytime and Craft program for preschoolers and their caregivers will be held on Mondays, Aug. 2 and 9 at 11 a.m.  No registration required.

Come in your pajamas for songs, stories and games at Bedtime Storytime to be held on Mondays, August 2, 9 & 30 at 7 p.m. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

The “Make a Splash – Read” Scavenger Hunt will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m.  Children of all ages and their caregivers are welcome to attend.  No registration required.

Come and make “Decorative Jellyfish” at the school-age craft program on Wednesday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m.  This program is for children in grades 1 through 6.  No registration required.

The “Turtle and Tortoise” Animal Show will be held on Thursday, Aug. 5 at 11 a.m.  Children of all ages are invited to attend.  No registration required.

The “Make a Splash – Read” Film Festival will be held on Fridays, Aug. 6 and 13.  All films will be shown at 11 a.m. The film, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” will be shown on Aug. 6; the film, “Flushed Away” will be shown on Aug. 13.  Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

Musical Entertainers, Melody and Presley, will perform their “Make a Splash – Read” Interactive Concert on Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 11 a.m.  Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to join the fun.  No registration required.

Come and make a “Penguin Puppet” at the school-age craft program on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m.  This program is for children in grades 1 through 6.  No registration required

Do you like to draw?  Come to the Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Program on Thursday, Aug. 12 at 11 a.m.  This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers.  No registration required.

A Beach Party for preschoolers and their caregivers to be held on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m.  Space is limited.  Signup is required

A Beach Party for children in Kindergarten through grade 6 will be held on Thursday, Aug.  5 at 2 p.m.  Space is limited.  Signup is required.

“Games at the Library” will be held on Friday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

In an attempt to protect the seas, the famous pirate James Dauer gathered a crew and set sail for The Black Cave! Piccirillo Sciencetelling uses science experiments to tell us the tale of “The Curse of the Mutating Hand” on Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 2:30 p.m. Children, ages 5 to 12, are invited to attend.  Space is limited.  Signup is required.

A “Pirate Party” will be held on Thursday, Aug. 12 at 2 p.m.  Children in Kindergarten through grade 6 are welcome to attend.  Space is limited.  Signup is required.
