CLARK – Citing safety concerns, Clark’s Township Council voted Monday to permanently close Campbell Street to through traffic.
The street is a short connecting road that linked Westfield Avenue with the residential Union Street. It runs beside several businesses, including a Dairy Queen and a greeting card and office supply store.
The township had received a number of complaints from area families, and ultimately closed the street because of concerns about dangerous traffic.
The township also received dozens of letters objecting to the planned closing.
Clark officials are planning to request bids for landscaping over the road.
