Homicide Task Force Investigating Elizabeth Killing

ELIZABETH — The Union County Homicide Task Force is investigating the shooting death of a 19-year-old Elizabeth man who was killed earlier this morning, Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow announced this afternoon.

Around 12:20 a.m. on July 22, officers were called to the 900 block of Flora Street in Elizabeth, said Romankow. There, they discovered Bruno Pierre suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to University Hospital in Newark where he was listed in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 12:40 p.m., said Romankow.

A second person was grazed by a bullet and was treated at a local hospital and later released.

No arrests have been made and this remains an active investigation, officials said.
