SOUTH AMBOY – The city council is expected to vote on a replacement for the late Councilman Russell Stillwagon next week.

The city’s Democratic Party submitted a list of three candidates to represent South Amboy’s First Ward. Planning board members Francis “Butch” Mulvey and Robert Senape, as well as political newcomer Donald Applegate, are being considered for the seat.

In November, city voters will determine who will serve the final two years of Stillwagon’s term.
