Rahway Summer Concert Series Line-Up Announced

RAHWAY — The line-up for the Rahway Mayor’s Summer Concert Series has been announced. Concerts will be on Thursday nights, starting on Aug. 5, at 7 p.m. on Main Street behind the Union County Performing Arts Center.

On August 5, enjoy the Latin Night with the David Cedeno and orchestra.


Cedeno’s success stretches far beyond the borders of the United States. In 1996, David Cedeno and his Orchestra were asked to share their Latin music in person with the residents of Japan. In 2007, Cedeno appeared in the movie “El Cantante” starring Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.

On Aug. 12, Rahway will offer a Swing Night with Sentimental Journey Orchestra with the salute to Glenn Miller and the big bands of yesteryear.

Celtic Night will be will be on Aug. 19. Jennifer Mylod and the Boys of County of O’cean will be on stage. In addition to Irish music, Mylod writes her own, original music, songs and lyrics. She produced her first music album entitled “At This Moment” which was comprised of original, contemporary, Celtic folk music, in 1999. In 2006, Jennifer and her husband Philip were selected by the History Channel to provide the music for an Irish documentary, “Paddy Whacked – The History of the Irish Mob” based on a book by T.J. English.

On Aug. 26, Rock-n-Roll night will end this year’s concert series. Jobonanno and The Godsons will be on stage to entertain you. Recently voted one of the top ten Jersey bands by News 12 NJ, this act has opened shows for Bruce Springsteen, James Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis, The B-52’s and other nationally-known bands.
