LINDEN – A New York man was arrested on drug charges when police went to investigate a noise complaint at an Alexander Avenue residence early Thursday morning.
Daniel James McLane, 19, of Jackson Heights, N.Y., was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and issued a summons for violating a local noise ordinance, police said.
At 12:36 a.m., officers entered the rear yard of a residence on the 500 block of Alexander Avenue. They saw five people sitting in a hot tub and smelled burning marijuana, authorities said. The also saw a glass pipe “bowl” and a plastic bag of a substance that appeared to be marijuana on a lawn chair, authorities said. McLane allegedly claimed ownership of the items, so he was placed under arrest.
McLane was released on a summons pending a court date, police said.
