Linden Man Robbed At Gunpoint When He Tried To Sell iPhone

LINDEN – Last week, a Linden man was robbed at gunpoint when while attempting to sell his iPhone, police said.

The 21-year-old victim responded to a Craigslist ad Friday afternoon and went to the designated meeting location at Clark Street and Jackson Avenue, he told police. When he got there, the victim was approached by a man with a silver handgun who demanded his iPhone, valued at $400, and also took $300 in cash. The suspect fled on foot through some rear yards, according to police.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned male in his mid 20s, with a small bushy goatee beard, who was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and a red ball cap turned backwards, police said. The victim told police he believed the gun was fake, authorities said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact Det. John Johnston at 1-908-474-8550 or email
