NJDOT Announces Smith Street Eastbound Traffic Shift Over Route 440 in Woodbridge

TRENTON – The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced the next stage of construction for the Smith Street bridge deck replacement project over Route 440 in Woodbridge.

On Wednesday, July 7, NJDOT will shift Smith Street eastbound traffic to the right onto the new bridge deck with the work zone in the center portion of the roadway. Westbound traffic will remain in its current configuration with one lane shifted to the right.

The $1.9 million federally funded project, which includes replacing the Smith Street bridge deck, resurfacing the approaches and installing new guide rail and sidewalks, is anticipated to be completed this fall 2010.
