July 13 – PURE WATER UPDATE ON HAITI
Byron Miller – Westfield Rotary club member, Asst District Governor and Rotary International Service Above Self Award recipient spearheads the District’s efforts in supporting clean water initiatives through Pure Water for the World. He recently traveled to Haiti, where the organization has been instrumental in implementing clean water programs. From an insightful perspective, he will share poignant observations, casting light on the darkest of times for this human experience. Learn first hand, of the people’s struggles to cope, tales of great heroism, tragic endings and of Haiti’s new reality. It is a story of the human spirit, of moving forward and of hope.

July 27 – WESTFIELD ROTARY CLUB ASSEMBLY
Club Assemblies are an opportunity for the club leadership to engage members by discussing issues and reviewing goals and processes. As Rotary International begins a new year, this Club Assembly will focus on the guidelines and criteria used for the annual awards the Westfield Club distributes locally and abroad. Chairs of the Community Grants, Scholarship and Philhower Award committees will offer insight into their decision making process.
One of 33,000 clubs in 160 countries worldwide that make up Rotary International, the Westfield Rotary is the largest provider of scholarships to Westfield students, a major contributor to community grants as well as several international projects. They meet 50 weeks per year between 12:15 – 1:30 p.m. for lunch and a program at the Westfield Area Y, 220 Clark Street in the second floor Kellogg room. They welcome guests to join them at any of their weekly meetings.
