Union Library Announces July Children’s Programs

UNION — The Children’s Department of the Union Public Library has scheduled the following programs at the Main Library during the month of July:

Thursday, July 1, at 11 a.m. — Paul Mikula; “That Butterfly Guy” introduces children to the world of butterflies.  This fast-paced, high-energy program is both entertaining and educational.  Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

Friday, July 2 at 11 a.m. –  Do you think you know your Disney musical songs? Put your music knowledge to the test at the “Name that Tune: Disney Tunes” Music Contest.  This program is for children in grades 1 and up.  No registration required.

Tuesday, July 6, at 11 a.m. — Bubbles, Bubbles and Bubbles of Fun at the Library’s Bubblemania Day.  Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

Wednesday, July 7, at 11 a.m. — Come and make a “Hawaiian Lei”.  This program is for children in grades 1 through 6.  No registration required.

Thursday, July 8, at 11 a.m. — Musical Entertainer, Ken Galipeau.  Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

Fridays, July 9, 16, 23, 30, Aug. 6 and 13  — “Make a Splash – Read” Film Festival.  All films will be shown at 11 a.m. The film, “The Little Mermaid” will be show on July 9; “The Rescuers” will be shown on July 16; “Finding Nemo” will be shown on July 23; and “Peter Pan” will be shown on July 30.  Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

Mondays, July 12, 19 and 26 at 11 a.m. — Preschool Storytime and Craft program for preschoolers and their caregivers.  No registration required

Mondays, July 12, 19 and 26 at 7 p.m. — Come in your pajamas for songs, stories and games at Bedtime Storytime. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

Tuesday, July 13 at 11 a.m. — T-Shirt Decorating Workshop.  CHILDREN MUST BRING THEIR OWN T-SHIRTS.  This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers.  No registration required.

Wednesday, July14 at 11 a.m. — Come and make a “Sea Mobile” at the School-Age Craft program. This program is for children in grades 1 through 6.  No registration required.

Thursday, July 15 at 11 a.m. — Do you like magic? Magician Brian Richards entertains and astounds.  Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

Tuesday, July 20 at 11 a.m. — There is a commotion at the bottom of the ocean and entertainer Ann Coppola is going help children go and take a look. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

Wednesday, July 21 at 11 a.m. — Come and make a “Fish and Cup Toy”. This program is for children in grades 1 through 6.  No registration required.

Thursday, July 22 at 11 a.m. — “Pirate Party” Children of all ages and their caregivers are welcome to attend.  No registration required.

Tuesday, July 27 at 11 a.m. — The Storybook Puppet Theater will perform the “Fisherman and his Wife and other Folktales” Puppet Show.  This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers.  No registration required.

Wednesday, July 28 at 11 a.m. — Make a “Butterfly Mask” at the School-Age Craft program.  This program is for children in grades 1 through 6.  No registration required.

Thursday, July 29 at 11 a.m. — “Carnival Day at the Library” This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers.  No registration required.

The Children’s Department of the Union Public Library has scheduled the following programs at the Vauxhall Branch during the month of July:

Thursday, July 1, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. or while supplies last — Make 4th of July crafts. This program is for children of all ages.  No registration required.

Fridays, July 2, 16, and 30 at 10 a.m. — “Cool”  Movie Program for preschoolers and their caregivers.  No signup required.

Fridays, July 2, 16, and July 30 at 2 p.m. — “Cool”  Movie Program for children in grades 1 through 8.  No signup required.

Tuesday, July 6 at 11 a.m. — “Rainbow Fish”  Storytime and Craft Program for preschoolers and their caregivers.  Space is limited.  Signup is required.

Wednesday, July 7 at 2 p.m. — Musical entertainers, Melody and Presley, will perform their “Make a Splash – Read” Interactive Concert.  Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to join the fun.  Space is limited.  Signup is required.

Friday, July 9 at 2 p.m. — “Games at the Library”. Children of all ages and their caregivers are invited to attend.  No registration required.

Mondays, July 12, 19, and 26 at 7 p.m. — Bedtime Storytime for children of all ages. No registration required.

Wednesday, July 21 at 2 p.m. — Animals from the Turtle Back Zoo will be coming to the library.  This program is for children in Kindergarten through grade 6.  Space is limited.  Signup is required.

Friday, July 23, at 2 p.m. — Library Bingo for children of all ages.  No registration required.

Tuesday, July 27 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. or while supplies last — Drop in anytime on to make Sand Art. This program is for children of all ages.  No registration required.

Thursday, July 29 at 2 p.m. — Children in Kindergarten through grade 6 are invited to the Shark Program.  Space is limited.  Signup is required.
