South Amboy Councilman Dies (Updated)

SOUTH AMBOY — Councilman Russell Stillwagon died Tuesday night. He was 78.

“Councilman Stillwagon was a dedicated public servant who served the residents of the first ward since 1991.  He will be truly missed by his family, constituents and many friends,” said South Amboy Business Administrator Camille Tooker in a statement released by the city Wednesday morning.

Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Saturday from The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals” on Bordentown Avenue followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church on Augusta Street.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Gundrum Service “Home For Funerals.”
