Golf Tournament Offers Community Opportunity to Fight Cancer from the Fairway

WESTFIELD — On Monday, July 19, the American Cancer Society will host the Metro NJ Region’s 18th annual Golf Tournament at Echo Lake Country Club in Westfield.

The entry fee per golfer is $395 or $1,500 for a foursome and includes a welcome gift, complimentary golf lessons with PGA professional Joel Shenman, green fees, a cart or caddie, 18-hole golf tournament, cook-out lunch,  “19th-Hole” cocktail reception, seated dessert, and awards.


The event includes a prize raffle drawing where you can buy a ticket for $50 or 5 tickets for $200 and enter for a chance to win 5 fabulous prizes, including a 6-night stay in Hawaii.  There will be contests on the course, a tricky tray raffle and a silent auction.  Tickets to attend only the cocktail hour and awards dinner are $75 per person.  To participate or learn about additional donation opportunities with the American Cancer Society, call 1-800-227-2345 or visit

At the event, Todd Gannet will be honored for his dedication to the American Cancer Society and his community and Eric J. Maurer, CPA, will be presented with the 8th Annual Robert J. Cohen Humanitarian Award.
