CARTERET – A borough man was shot and killed outside his home last night, Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Carteret Police Chief John Pieczyski announced today. A 17-year-old was also wounded outside the homicide victim’s home.

Devon Mbachu, 19, of Lowell Street in Carteret, was pronounced dead at 12:45 a.m. today at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. The 17-year-old, whose identity is being withheld by authorities, was taken to University Hospital in Newark where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was released.

Detective Sgt.
