Shakespeare Adaptation Comes To Cranford

CRANFORD—The Friends of the Cranford Public Library will welcome back the Shakespeare of New Jersey’s Next Stage Ensemble, which will be presenting two live performances in July.

On Wednesday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m. the ensemble will present Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy, “As You Like It,” and on Wednesday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. it will present “The Rover,” a Restoration era comedy by Aphra Behn, one of England’s first female playwrights.  Each performance is a one-hour adaptation.


“As You Like It” is recommended for ages eight and up, “The Rover”, for ages 12 and up.  The plays will be staged at the Cranford Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, which is located at 479 South Avenue East.  Admission is free and all are welcome.
