ALJ Announces June Award Winners

CLARK – Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark has announced the final Student of the Month and Crusader Award winners for the 2009-2010 school year.

Stephanie Lewis

Senior Stephanie Lewis is the Student of the Month for June. During her high school career, Lewis has been a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, the American Sign Language Club, the Fishing Club, the Spanish Club and the Student Council.

Lewis also earned accolades on the athletic field. She was the captain of the field hockey team this year and has been named team MVP. She has received All Conference, All County, Group II State, and All North Jersey First Team honors. She also played basketball, ran track and competed on the swimming team during her high school career.

Outside of school, Lewis works as a lifeguard and volunteers for the Garwood First Aid Squad. She plans to continue her academic and athletic career at Monmouth University, where she will play field hockey and study psychology.

Stephanie is the daughter of Adele and Glenn Lewis.

Marissa Steinberg

Senior Marissa Steinberg received the Crusader Award. Steinberg is president of her class and has been a member of the Italian Honor Society, the Key Club, SPEL/REBEL and the school’s peer leadership program during her high school career. Steinberg also served as the varsity girls softball team manager.

Outside of school, Steinberg volunteered at St. Agnes Vacation Bible School and worked as a receptionist. She enjoys baking, music and technology. In the fall, Steinberg will attend Ramapo College to study nursing.

Marissa is the daughter of Mary Jane and Lance Steinberg.
