PLAINFIELD — The Union County Homicide Task Force and the Plainfield Police Department are investigating the shooting death of an 18-year-old man that occurred last night, Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow said.
Around 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, police were called to 404 Plainfield Avenue on reports of shots fired. When they arrived they discovered Tyrell Brighton, 18, of Plainfield, suffering from a gunshot wound, said Romankow. He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he later died from his injuries around 9:40 p.m.
A reward of up to $5,000 is available for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for the death of Tyrell Brighton.
