Linden High School Celebrates Flag Day

LINDEN – ROTC Cadets at Linden High School marked the occasion of Flag Day.

The American flag is representative of our independence and our unity as a nation. It was at the lead of every battle fought by Americans and many people have died protecting it. It was even taken proudly to the surface of the moon.

Flag Day is celebrated on June 14, marking the anniversary of the adoption of the flag by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.

Linden High School ROTC cadets Christian Rojas, Zachary Modrak, and Paola Arteaga  honor the American flag.

Linden High School cadets C/LTjg Victoria Garcia and C/LCDR Megan Velasquez salute while C/LTjg Nikki Janusz raises the flag.
