RAHWAY — On May 14, Rahway High School’s National Honor Society held its annual 26-hour famine.  The event is a food drive designed to raise awareness of hunger around the world.  All of the members of Rahway’s National Honor Society participated in the event, which started on Friday afternoon and ended at 4 p.m. on Saturday.  Saturday morning, the participants split up into teams to collect food from local donors and bring it to the soup kitchen at Saint Mark’s Church in Rahway.

Rahway High School senior and National Honor Society member Carley Lesinski works on a banner commemorating the people who die of hunger every 26 hours.
