Auditions for the Romantic Comedy “Abie’s Irish Rose”

WESTFIELD — Director Naomi Yablonsky of Westfield Community Players is holding open auditions for Anne Nichols romantic comedy “Abie’s Irish Rose” on Monday June 21 and Tuesday June 22 at 7 p.m. at 1000 North Avenue West, Westfield (908-232-9568).  Play rehearsals will start in mid-August for performances weekends Oct. 9 through 23.

This American classic showcases cultural and religious differences with comedic results when a nice Jewish boy falls in love with an Irish Catholic lass, to the chagrin of their families.

The cast requirements are one woman and five men, 50s to 60s, and one man and one woman in their 20s.

Slight Irish and Yiddish accents for the older characters are desired, but not necessary.
