RAHWAY — On Thursday, June 3, Roosevelt School in Rahway held their first annual Field Day. Filled with fun and games, field day marked the culmination of a rigorous school year and a successful Positive Behavior Support in Schools Program.
This event creates positive learning environments that encourage and support pro-social student behavior at the school wide, classroom, and individual student levels using current research and validated practices in positive behavior support, according to school officials. Events included Long Jump, Foul Shooting, Toss-Across/Bean Bag, Hula Hoop, Hippity Hop Relay, Clothing Relay, Sponge Pass, Ping Pong Spoon Relay, Volleyball, Clean up the Yard Game, and Dancing with the DJ.
Lunch provided by the cafeteria was a choice of hamburgers, hotdogs, or chicken, milk, juice, chips, watermelon, and Icee Juicy. Students sat on beach towels and enjoyed their lunch outside on the lawn. All students received temporary tattoos and water bottles.
