SPRINGFIELD — On Monday, June 14, at 3 p.m., the Springfield Free Public Library will host Steven Hruby, AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassador, speaking for the Union County Department of Parks & Community Renewal.
During the course of the program he will speak about water issues in New Jersey, including watershed management and how the quality of your life connects to the watershed. Learn how to assess the health of brooks and streams, then go to a local stream and collect insects and crustaceans for analysis. This will provide useful information to the NJDEP Division of Watershed Management. After this, you will receive a certificate identifying you as an official DEP stream assessor.
