Rahway High School Students Paint “Doors of Life” Murals

RAHWAY — Recently, members of Jo Anne Campanelli’s art major class at Rahway High School have been working on four murals located at the stairwells of the science wing. These are murals of doors, significant because “high school opens up many doors for you.”

The themes of the four doors are Imagination (Tribute to Disney), The Future (Space Exploration), Fame and Fortune (Runway), and Doors Leading to Temptation (The Seven Deadly Sins).  The Seven Deadly Sins emphasizes that although there are many doors leading to a life outside the school, not all of them are good; students always have a choice as to whichever door to go through.

Robert Peoples, shaded by the drawing projected on the wall, paints Imagination, A Tribute to Disney.

Students Kevin Salazar, Asia Pitt and Daniel Millan paint the door leading to temptation (The Seven Deadly Sins).

Mavelli Jimenez and Dechelle Hinton frame the runway with painted curtains.
