WESTFIELD – Fruits and vegetables can easily become a nutritious and delicious part of your everyday diet. Celebrate the spring harvest and all its healthful benefits by attending another appetizing class offered by the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Union County called “Bringing Vegetables to the Table: A Celebration of the Spring Harvest.”
The class, which includes tastings, will instruct participants on simple and fun ways to add more fruits and vegetables to their diets. For instance, the American Dietetic Association recommends using veggies as a pizza topping or blending frozen strawberries, low-fat milk and banana to make a tasty fruit smoothie.
Bringing Vegetables to the Table: A Celebration of the Spring Harvest will be held on Thursday, May 6 from 7-9 p.m. at the Extension offices located at the County building, 300 North Avenue East in Westfield, second floor.
Pre-registration is required by calling the extension, 1-908-6549854 x2235. A materials fee of $5 will be collected at the door.
