CLARK — Children in grades 1 – 5 who reside in Union County are invited to submit their art work in The Arc’s first T-Shirt Design Contest. The Arc of Union County is holding the design contest in conjunction with its Fifth Annual “Step Up for The Arc” on Saturday, Sept. 25.
This year’s event will be held at Oak Ridge Park in Clark and presents an opportunity for the Union County community to unite and increase public awareness of The Arc’s programs and services which benefit children and adults with developmental disabilities. Also, the event serves as a fundraiser to support all of The Arc’s programs, which have been impacted by government budget cuts.
The deadline for the contest is July 1. This year’s theme is “Helping Others,” and the winning design will be featured on the 2010 “Step Up for The Arc” T-shirts which will be given to all event participants who raise $75 or more. In addition, the top 3 designs will win savings bonds, generously provided by Provident Bank, the event’s Long Distance Sponsor.
Entries must be 8.5” by 11” and may be in color or black and white. All original artwork must be accompanied by a parent’s consent, and should be sent to “Step Up for The Arc”, 52 Fadem Road, Springfield, NJ 07081
