Crook Cash Condemned

LINDEN — A top Democrat is asking Council President Robert Bunk to get rid of money given to him by crooks.

“Robert Bunk received campaign contributions from convicted felons Matthew Valvano, Frank Rose and his brother Anthony Rose,” said Devine. “I believe he should give that money to charity instead of putting gaudy signs on property without owners’ permission.”

Valvano was a Bunk supporter who took bribes while working as a city inspector. The Rose bothers were principals in an elaborate bribery and kickback scheme involving a home improvement program while they were employed by the city.

All three Bunk supporters were convicted and sentenced to federal prison, but the money they donated to various political funds that fueled Bunk’s past campaigns was never parsed.

“Bob Bunk cannot expect to be trusted as long he has been the beneficiary of bribery and corruption,” Devine said.

You have got to be kidding me. Bunk did not take any money from them for his run for Mayor in 2010 and the last time he ran was 4 years ago for council president before any of those people were accused or convicted. Let’s look and see who made donations to Mr. Devine’s campaigns over the years. I bet some interesting names would pop up.
