Perth Amboy Announces a Municipal Court Amnesty Program

PERTH AMBOY—The city will offer a unique amnesty program for individuals currently in contempt of court for failing to pay fines and costs, according to Mayor Wilda Diaz and Judge George M. Boyd of the Perth Amboy Municipal Court.

This one-time opportunity for a period of 30 days, beginning Tuesday, June 1 – Wednesday, June 30, will allow individuals to pay off their balances in full.  Any arrest warrants issued will be recalled and additional contempt and/or penalty assessments waived.

While any driving suspension imposed during the delinquent period will remain in effect, with payment in full under the amnesty program, the court will provide receipts and assistance in getting driving privileges restored by the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission.

Cash, certified checks, money orders, Visa and MasterCard will be accepted for payment. On-line payment will NOT be accepted. For any questions regarding time payment order, visit the Perth Amboy Municipal Court at 365 New Brunswick Avenue or call: 1-732-442-6011.
