EDISON — On the evening of May 13, the Edison Rotary Club held its 15th Annual Senior of the Year Scholarship Dinner at The Pines Manor in Edison. During the festivities, Ayna Agarwal of Colonia, a senior at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison, was named the organization’s Senior of the Year.
She was the organization’s Senior of the Month for March. The evening was also especially sweet for Agarwal, who received notification during the Rotary event that she had been accepted to Stanford University.
Agarwal was surrounded by classmates who were also named Seniors of the Month: Courtney Harris of Piscataway (June), Garima Kapoor of Edison (December), Devi Mody of Edison (October), Christopher Gray of Carteret (February), Charlie Pivnichny of Plainfield (April), and Nia Allen-Lee of Parlin (November). Although not in attendance, Charles Kennedy of Watchung (September), Nia Beckett of Plainfield, and Katie Lee of Edison (May) were also Seniors of the Month.
The Rotary Club program noted: “For 15 years, the Edison Rotary has been proud to honor more than 1,300 high school seniors as they transition beyond high school into college and careers around the globe. These special young adults contribute their services in every aspect of life. Our program was created to encourage and thank these civic-minded young adults who do so much to better our daily lives.”
