RAHWAY — On Saturday, April 20, 25 Rahway High School students volunteered to clean up debris along the Rahway River in Rahway River Park.  This is the third year that the high school Social Action Club has participated in this annual event, which is a collaborate effort organized by the Rahway River Association, Boy Scouts of America, the City of Rahway and the Union County Department of Parks and Recreation.

As a result of this year’s many storms, there was even more garbage than in previous years.  Keeping the Rahway River clean is among the missions of the Rahway High School Social Action Club, which is currently participating in the Water Champions Program run by Americorps, the Environmental Protection Agency, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection and the Union County Department of Parks and Recreation.
