Elizabeth Man Arrested On Check Fraud Charge

LINDEN – Police arrested an Elizabeth man who allegedly attempted to cash a fraudulent cashier’s check at a local bank Friday.

Nadir Z. Green, 30, was charged with uttering a bad check, police said. He is being held at Union County Jail on $15,000 bail.

On Friday afternoon, employees at Capitol One Bank on West Edgar Road called police to report a customer attempting to cash a bad check in the amount of $4,375. Green told the officers that he received the check in the mail as part of a prize award, authorities said.

Green was also charged with contempt of court warrants from Elizabeth and Roselle Park, according to police.
