Elite Athletes And Coaches Giving Back With Free Running Camp

RAHWAY — Rahway Recreation and PowerBar Energy Food Company will be conducting a free track & field, speed development and running camp at the Rahway Recreation Center, 275 Milton Avenue in Rahway on Saturday, May 22.

This free PowerBar Track & Field, Speed Development and Running Camp is offered free to the community by many athletes and coaches who will volunteer their time to give back to the sport which gave them so much.


The camp will start at 10am and end at noon. To obtain a registration form, call 1-732-669-3600 or pick-up one at the Recreation Center 3 City Hall Plaza in Rahway. For coaches who want to volunteer, call 1-732-827-2014.

Among the coaches who will conduct this clinic are Ally Mongo, a recreation specialist, USATF-certified coach and a PowerBar Team Elite sponsored athlete; Alem Kahsay, a former professional runner and a coach for the New York Road Runners Club from Ethiopia; Fred Dupiton, a former professional marathon runner from New York City; Asteria, a former professional long distance runner; Jesse Jackson, a certified track & field coach and founder of Gladiator Track Club in Jersey City who has trained many high school and college athletes including Olympians; Ed Rabassa, a coach and former track & field and long distance runner and many more.
