NEWARK – The Newark Bears and Healthfirst Health Plan of New Jersey have partnered to present the 2010 Newark Bears Youth Baseball Clinics at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. The Bears will host eight free clinics over the course of the summer.
“We are very excited to join with Healthfirst NJ and provide kids the opportunity of a lifetime,” said Bears General Manger Charlie Dowd. “It’s not often a kid can say he learned steal a base from Tim Raines or how to handle a pitch in the dirt from Ron Karkovice.”
Registration for the first two clinics is currently open. Each clinic date requires a separate registration. Each camper will receive a day of instruction, a Newark Bears Baseball Clinic t-shirt and hat, and one ticket good for the Newark Bears’ game that same day.
The first clinic session will take place on Sunday, May 23 with session two on Sunday, May 30. The clinics will run from noon – 1:00 p.m., and campers should arrive at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium at 11:45 p.m. Sign up by calling 1-973-848-1000 ext. 165.
