MADISON – Bucky and John Pizzarelli, Harry Allen, Cecil Brooks III, and the George Gee Swing Orchestra are some of the headliners at Jazzfest 2010 sponsored by RXR and presented by the New Jersey Jazz Society.
Started in 1976, the metropolitan region’s longest running jazz festival will feature ten hours of nonstop jazz on Saturday, June 5 from noon to 10:00 p.m. featuring tributes to recent New Jersey Hall of Fame inductees Count Basie and Les Paul. Jazzfest kicks off with a free concert on Friday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m. featuring the top New Jersey high school jazz bands.
The festival will take place on the campus of Drew University in Madison and also offers a variety of vendors, including food, hard to find jazz CDs, records, crafts and art. Additional sponsors include Toyota of Morristown, WBGO Jazz88FM, Hot House Magazine, the Madison Arts & Culture Alliance, the Madison Downtown Development Commission and Jazzmobile.
Tickets will be $65 at the gate, but are now available at the advance sale price of only $50 either online at www.njjs.org or by calling 1-800-303-6557.
