May 3 at 5:28 p.m. – At 45 Central Avenue, Officer Brian Renda arrested Roselle resident Dashawn Hope, 18, for theft. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance pending a court date.

May 5 at 12:20 p.m. – In the vicinity of Broadway, Det. Walter Merfert arrested Perth Amboy resident Wade Roberts, 51, on an outstanding warrant from Roselle for contempt of court/motor vehicle violations. He was subsequently turned over to the Roselle Police Department.

May 5 at 12:36 p.m. – Officer John Ehling investigated a report of a theft of construction equipment at 1505 Raritan Road.

May 6 at 12:56 a.m. – In the vicinity of 1074 Raritan Road, Officer Brian Renda arrested Cranford resident Julie Cotton, 31, for DWI.  She was subsequently released pending a court date.

May 6 at 9:11 a.m. – Officer John Ehling investigated a report of a theft of items from a motor vehicle, which was parked at a Skyline Drive residence.

May 6 at 2:24 p.m. – In the vicinity of 1207 Raritan Road, Officer Terrance Harrison arrested Garwood resident Bruce Trano, 35, for possession of a controlled, dangerous substance and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance pending a court date.

May 7 at 12:29 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident in the vicinity of Brant Avenue. The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad responded for one patient. P.O. Kenneth Sarnecki was the investigating officer.

May 8 at 12:16 p.m. – Officer Tom Sarnecki investigated a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle, which was parked at a Parkway Drive residence.

May 10 at 9:58 a.m. – Officer Glenn Griffin investigated a report of a theft of items from a motor vehicle, which was parked at 107 Sweet Briar Drive.

May 10 at 10:12 a.m. – At the Clifton Police Department, Officer Thomas Sarnecki arrested Clifton resident Garry Olivero, 42, on an outstanding warrant for contempt of court/motor vehicle violations.  He was subsequently transported to the Union County Jail.
