SOUTH AMBOY-In honor of National Police Week, May 9-15.

On April 19, 1942, local No. 63 P.B.A. held their 16th annual dance. The dance took place on April 19, in the High School Auditorium. Eddie Poulson and Orchestra furnished the music. The dance, held annually, was inaugurated in 1926 and is attended by a large number of local residents as well as members and friends of the P.B.A. from other cities.

The proceeds of the event, as has been the custom since the dance originated will be turned over to the charity fund maintained by local organization.

MORE INTERESTING THAN READING, WRITING AND ARITHMETIC was the lecture on the safety factor in bicycling in 1959.

The bicycle safety instructions were given in the 3 local grammar schools under the sponsorship of the South Amboy Police Department and under the direction of Chief of Police John Gleason. Patrolman Frank Norek was the instructor.
